A Couple New Things...

So, I can now cross off

Build a snowman

We got a lot of snow up at school this past week, and my friend and I made a very little snowman. His name was Drugee McGee and he was a Gryffindor. He would have been bigger if my friend didn't have class so soon after we started.

Also, I finished Season 3 of LOST last night!  SPOILERS ALERT! The show is honestly just getting a little crazy now. Actually, I'm just pissed my favorite character just died. It's a great show, but I'm a little nervous to see if I can go 3 more seasons without Charlie :( I just loved how in love with Claire he was and how he is a total sweetheart and I hope somehow the magic island brings him back or something cause I'm so sad. End rant.

I started my first art class, so I'll update on the projects I do in class.
That's all for now :)

LOST: Season 1

Finished Season 1 of LOST with my family!
I LOVE this show, it is crazy addicting and so unlike anything else I've ever seen on television. I absolutely LOVE Charlie because I just love him with Claire. He is so adorable and I want them to be in loooove. Sawyer is incredibly attractive and would be great with Kate, can't you picture them both on the run from the law together once/if they go back to the real world? I pretty much like everyone but Shannon and when she's paired with Sayid I just don't understand it at all.
Watching all the seasons of LOST and 24 is a goal for me because when those shows ended, it was considered the end of an era in television. Naturally, I need to see the shows to understand that and can already see how different this show is from the current popular shows like Glee, Modern Family, and the Office. Only 5 more seasons to go for LOST!

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

2/100 books read

Started this and finished this today! It was adorable, as expected since I have seen the Disney movie. The themes are simple, revolving around the transition from childhood to adulthood, because the story is simply to entertain. Plus I love how the cover looks! I got it at Barnes and Noble and it also has other Lewis Carrol stories I plan to read. I definitely think my 100 books goal can be accomplished easily at the rate I'm going.

The Catcher in the Rye

1/100 books read
1/5 "classics"

This book didn't take me too long to read, but it was very odd. It was apparently my dad's favorite book in college, so  I'm glad I have him to discuss it with. The Catcher in the Rye isn't like a majority of the books that are published recently because it doesn't feel like it has a true plot or big climax point. It's simply the genuine thoughts of a teenage boy who quite obviously has some problems. There is a lot of symbolism and themes to be studied in this, but what I noticed the most was how lonely Holden is, yet how at the same time Holden thinks everyone is a phony, especially if they do anything that normal adults do. He tries to hold onto his youth without realizing it by considering adult life to be filled with social climbers. Those are just a few of my afterthoughts, I'd suggest the book to anyone looking for a good classic to read.

On my way...

1,000/10,000 grains of rice!

I've also started (and almost finished) The Catch in the Rye. It's been an easy read so far, but I definitely feel like I'm missing a key point somewhere in the story... I'll update a full review when I'm finished. I also bough a beautiful copy of Alice in Wonderland that has other stories by Lewis Carrol in it.

I ran a mile the other day to start working my way up to being able to run 3 straight miles for a 5K! I'm feeling good about getting my goals done and am loving my reading goals. I forgot how much I love reading for fun. That's all I have to update for the moment.
